Functional Dry Needling - Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS)

Dry needling is proven to be effective in treating Chronic pain. Treatment is done by inserting an acupuncture needle into the tight or shortened muscle. That will then cause the muscle to twitch resulting in relaxation or lengthening of the tight muscle. If this procedure is done on a healthy muscle the patient may not feel any discomfort but because it is done on a chronically shortened muscle the patient may feel a cramp like sensation. It is a distinctive type of pain which the patient learns to welcome it as it is accompanied by relief. Patients refer to it as good pain

Shockwave Therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses sound waves that interact with the tissues of the body to promote healing by breaking down scar tissue and calcium deposits, thus promoting the body’s natural healing process and formation of new blood vessels and improved blood flow to the area. It is a fast and effective was to heal calcific deposits on tendons, like for shoulder and rotator cuff tendons, for heel spurs and planter fasciitis, as well as Achilles tendonitis. It is the also proven to be very effective in treating chronic conditions such as muscular back pain.
